How YOU can help

  • SIGN the pledge by going to the home page, type your name and email and click email me the pledge. Find the email confirmation and open it. Push the button to add your name to the list of caring people who want to lessen animal suffering in entertainment. You will not be emailed- I just need proof that people agree with this reform movement.

  • STOP buying feathers. So easy!

  • BE vocal. Kind EMAILS to your favorite entertainers expressing your views on animal cruelty are a way to help. I can’t do this all by myself- the birds need as many allies as possible. Click here for a sample email. Also, email a request that costumers offer vegan merchandise. Click here for a sample email you can send to feather fan vendors.

  • FOLLOW the Instagram @FeatherPhaseOut and SHARE posts to your followers.

  • DO “like” and comment on all social media posts that present costumes using non animal feathers and feather alternatives. An example comment would be, “Thank you for using faux feathers #FeatherPhaseOut”.

  • STOP “liking” posts of entertainers wearing real feathers. Stop “liking” posts of entertainers using feather fans made of real feathers. Do like and COMMENT when you see feather alternatives. As often as possible express your appreciation of kind costumes- the birds appreciate it but they do not have social media.

  • USE the hashtag #FeatherPhaseOut to show your solidarity in this reform movement. Use it on your current photos to let everyone know that these are the last feathers you will be wearing- when they need to be replaced, you will be using non-animal alternatives.

  • When to use the hashtag #FeatherPhaseOut : on all your feather-free performance posts, on all your upcoming feather-less event posts, on social media images that do not contain feathers, on social media posts that have feathers however vowed to be replaced with feather-free alternatives asap, on any social media posts where you want to raise awareness of bird suffering.
